his eyes are half open half closed, hes being very slow and has little energy he hasnt eaten or drunk today :'( i truelly feel his time is up hes not even a year old yet hes special needs and i feel i have failed him :'( :'( :'(
 
Aww no I'm sorry to here that. You say he is special needs what is wrong with him? It may just be his time, its hard when they are young. I would syringe him some food though, maybe we shouldn't give up on him.

i think you should take him 2 the vet ASAP but it could be the time :'( :'( :'(
 
aww I'm so sorry your going through this, If he feels cold/uninterested then maybe it is the time for him to head to rainbow bridge.

It's such a hard thing to go through i went through it in feb with my sow who was just over 1 year old, it doesnt seem fair going so young :'(

I really hope he picks up for you, have you tried him with him fav food? keep him warm and somewhere quiet.
 
his mouth is deformed and he needs seringe fed everyday but today he was making no effort what so ever to swallow and its just coming out the sides of his mouth :'( he also suffers from mouth ulcers.

the thing is though Roo sees the vet regular and everytime the vet has told me that Roo was suffering and that he would be better being pts but ive ignored the advice everytime and kept him going even though ive known for ages that Roo has been going down hill if i call the vet all that shes going to do is put him to sleep and thats going to cost £100+ including the emergancy vet call out and if I'm honest I'm not willing to pay that much knowing fine well its just to get him pts if you get me, call me cruel if you like it just seems alot of money when i know theres nothing they can do to make him better. i have him comfy in a quiet room he doesnt seem to be suffering he just seems tired like an old man :(

if i had any hope that the vet would get him better then i would call them its just teh fact i know they cant :(
 
yeah when i picked him up he felt quite limp and cool but not cold
 
Tbh, I dont think its cruel to not take him to vet its pointless paying all that money for them to not get him better, i just kept meeka sat on my bed wrapped in a towel and stroked her until she had gone, hopefully your lil guy might come back around.. but i think you know in your heart if they are going *hugs*
 
In Roo's case I agree with Spudnik you've done great with him and gave him some life. It's pointless paying out if he is comfy let him go peacefully,bless him. :smitten:

So sorry to hear about Roo, I have read your posts about him before. You have done a wonderful job and it sounds like it might be time to let him go. As the others have said, keep him warm and comfy and maybe try syringe a little water into him so his trip to rainbow bridge is more comfortable.
 
Very sorry to hear about Roo. I always know when a guineas time is up, you can just sense it. Sometimes it's better to let them pass away quietly at home and not make their last few hours stressful by taking them off to the vets
 
I'm SO SO sorry for you. Stroke him and give him all your love whilst he is falling asleep.
 
I'm sorry to hear about Roo. I knew when it was time for my sow to go and a couple of years ago. Keep hi warm and cosy, and as cofortable as possible. You know you have done everything possible and I dont blame you either about not calling the vet.

Awww so sorry to hear about Roo :'(. I think you're doing the right thing not taking him to the vets. Just keep him comfy and warm and :'( let him fall asleep in your arms. :'(
 
Iis nop cruel not to take him to the vet. You don;t euthanise people when they are dying, you give them comfort care. You make them as comfortable and happy as they can be until they pass.

just to update you all Roo passed on this morning he was cuddled up to his favroute teddy, a teddy which has been with him since his first day here i watched as he took his final breath :'( i dont regret my decision to let him pass peacefully at home and I'm glad theres people who actually respect my decision with roo rather then telling me i shouldnt have pets :'(

thank you so much everyone with your support and advice with roo in his 9 months of life I'm going to miss him popcorning around my bedroom everyday :'( going to add him to the rainbow bridge.

I'm scared at how Joey will cope with his lose as all my Guinea Pigs in the past have died within days of each other :(

Sending you a big cuddle and I'm sure Roo would of wanted to be at home when he passed and not on some cold table. You done the right thing :smitten: 0:)
