I feed them 3 times a day.. With romain. little gem. Cucumber and a mix of herbs.

But do seem to be getting porkie abit.

They also have unlimited hay

Would one cup per piggy a day be enough for them?

Would they not become hungry? Just don't want them to suffer

How much exercise do they get?
How many pellets? I've found pellets the worst for porking up pigs!

Could be a good idea to give them veg when they're running around to search for it. They shouldn't be hungry if they've got hay 24/7 :)

We been giving them pets at home own brand nuggets in mornings and at night.

But they squeak alot when we go into the kitchen and open the fridge.

Ughh can't believe I completely over looked this lol.

They do run around abit. They are still skittish. Also we got them new houses so they have to walk up a ramp to get there hay.

Piggies are good at giving you a bit of a guilt trip when bags are rustled or you walk past! Mine are terrible as just next to the kitchen!
But I make sure they get lots of exercise (well they're OAPs so don't run around as much as they used to) but I make them work a little! :)

They come out daily for at least two hours, have the run of my guinea-proofed living room. And I try and give them new things to keep them occupied.
My friend came round on fri, armed with 3 shoe boxes and a big box for them, anything new that they can (safely) chew and amuse themselves with is good :)

Mine also have very limited pellets, grainless, and I find they're good with a stable weight and not too much porkiness! :)

This will save me a fortune was spending £30 a week on veggies for them lol.

I've no idea how I even over looked this lol

Is nuggets once a day aswell?

A tablespoon per piggie a day is fine. You can divide this up morning and night if you want to x

Mine get lots of veg, I spend lots on them and they far more than I prob eat myself, but the pellets are what chunk them up!
Obv not much fruit, just good veg is good. Twice a day is what I normally give but if I've just been shopping they might get a little more!

I give a few pellets morning and evening, normally stick a handful of nice hay on the floor of their cage then put a few pellets on top so they have to search to find them! P@h pellets not the best so would be good to find some good ones you could order if you can.

Try finding selective science grainless pellets. I have also been noticing the calcium stains on the fleece has cut right down now, not powdery and just stains. Good pellets 👍

Thanks for the help.. Piggys may not like it much. But they will get use to and it's for there own good.

Keepet the way I was feeding them wouldn't be surprised if they started onking lol

If you enjoy the interaction of veggie time you can always go on feeding multiple times a day just with a reduced quantity. We divide the veggie allowance so they get some at morning clean-out and some when the children come home from school because they love to hand feed with veggies.

Still very skittish. But I don't mind. One is getting brave but the other 2 are easy spooked.

I enjoy watching them mess around in the hay

I give my Finn and Lara veggies three times a day as well. They get endless supply of Oxbow hay and some Oxbow pellets also.
Mine get variety of veggies to ensure they get all the good vitamins from different veggies.

Finn has been with me since he was a baby and had three servings of veggies a day. Lara joined us later and has never had veggies before according to her previous owner who is also my friend. But now, Lara tells us when it is time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because she is very vocal and Finn just goes with the flow.

I honestly can't feed any less than three meals of veggies a day because they were raised having three meals a day so I can't just change everything and give them less veggies a day. I love feeding my piggies and they enjoy eating so.

A lot of forum members rate Harrington’s pellets, mine love burgess excell (black currant and oregano) :)

I think my piggys are being grumpy.

They have been alot less active now. :(

My Finn and Lara are both strong and active. I think they also look very good with their hair appear to glow. I believe they surely get enough vitamins with three servings of veggies a day.

I don't want to interrupt their diet by giving them less veggies so I will continue to give them as I have done before, three servings of veggies a day, endless Oxbow hay and some Oxbow pellets.

My piggies love Harringtons. I give them 4 small handfuls per day, in 2 foodbowls for the 5 of them. They have unlimited hay and veggies at night.

Are they hiding away (when you say they are a lot less active) or are they unwell? If they are hiding away it might be because it’s soooo cold we’ve turned up the heating a notch for them these last few days.
