Hi all.

Mr Banana has suggested that we take a trip to New Zealand in February. This is very exciting as we haven't taken a holiday in 5 years and the plan is to be there for a month.

The question I'm now struggling with, is what to do with Podge and Loki while we're gone. We have an arrangement with the neighbours for feeding if we are away for the odd weekend, but a whole month will require cleaning out, buying fresh veg etc which is rather a big ask considering they are not guinea pig people.

The pigs are indoor pigs, used to being kept on fleece in their own room and ideally I'd like them to be able to stay at home with someone coming in to care for them everyday, but as we live outside a small village in Herefordshire, I'm not sure if it would be even possible to find someone who could do that. Sending them away to board somewhere could be a possibility although I'm not sure how they'd react to having to be around other pigs and I think they'd definitely need to stay indoors.

What do you all do if you need to go away for a while? Or do you just not get away much?

We haven't had a hol since committing to the piggies we have but this is a wonderful opportunity for you.
Are there any members on here who would be able to have your little ones 'board' with them for the time if they have the space ?
Are they indoor or outdoor piggies ?
Doh, just read they are indoors -

I'm sure there are members who would let your boys board, I would consider it but I might be a bit far from you!

Hiya, I run a little boarding service for piggies (www.vipiggies.co.uk); we keep all piggies indoors and on fleece or vetbed, but I think I'd be a bit far for you to travel!

Good luck in finding someone; that will be the holiday of a lifetime!

I had someones piggies and rabbit ( indoors )here for 6 months and was really sad to see them go. What a shame you're not a bit closer to Northants.
