If Anyone Can Spare Any Healing Vibes For My Twix!

Recently I noticed Twix scratching and biting at her sides, and last few days a mass beginning to appear on her right hand side. Woke up Monday morning and found her eye bulging, sore and starting to cloud so thought it was the perfect time to have her seen to. Whisked her off to the vets yesterday evening and confirmed both a hay poke and an ovarian cyst :(. Also discovered she is mostly likely older than the rescue thought as she also has age related eye deterioration so her sight is steadily becoming less clear.

We have come away with some drops and a continuation of the metacam I had been giving her. Vet wants to wait till the eye has sorted itself and Twix is feeling more herself (she's been moody and withdrawn) and in a couple of days go back to investigate and talk over options for her cyst. It was the first time Twix has been to the vets so I took my veteran visitor Dodger with her for company. She did a fantastic job of keeping Twix calm but the examination really stressed her out as she is a very nervy pig, so despite Dodger's best of efforts...including sitting on Twix's head..we thought it best to come back in a few days.

So any spare healing wheekies and vibes for my gorgeous girlie would be very much appreciated. Here is the lovely lady herself.

 
Poor little lady, what a catalogue of discomfort for her! Hope her eye heals quick and you can solve the cyst issues nice and simply!

Thank you all so much for your kindness, it means an awful lot. Unfortunately the hormone injections haven't worked for Twix, apparently they only work in about a third of cases. Twix was due her last injection today but Molly felt it wasn't worth going through another course as it has made very little difference to the size of the cysts and Twix's discomfort. So we have decided to undergo surgery, tomorrow. I'm feeling rather anxious about the whole thing. As Twix is older than previously thought it adds to fears about her going under, but I'm trying to remain positive, I know Twix is otherwise in great health and is a happy little soul and that Molly is one of the best so I trust her judgement, I know Twix is in safe hands.

So if anyone can spare any more thoughts for my girl tomorrow I would be eternally grateful, she is currently bullying the others for cuddles so she is non the wiser about tomorrow!

Best of luck for Twix, it is always a courageous step to agree to surgery - healing wheeks are on their way to youuuuu :)
