MishImpossible
Junior Guinea Pig
We made the hard decision on Friday to put our little man Fonzie to sleep.
In fact, there was no other option, he was so poorly he could barely keep his head up and was so weak he wasn't taking any food from the syringe. He had a giant growth on his lung which was probably stopping the food from getting to his stomach.
It was heartbreaking. I know it's supposed to be better that he's not suffering anymore or in any pain, but I miss that little fella something rotten.
He had little bright pink feets like they'd been on a hotplate too long; he used to make this weird chicken sound when he cleaned his butt; he was so small when we took him home we thought we'd accidentally adopted a hamster and he took great pleasure in knocking over each and every single hay rack we bought for him not caring how pretty or expensive it was
We used to call him our ASBO pig.
We buried him on Saturday, in a beautiful spot in my mum's lovely garden. The sun was shining on the spot where we buried him. My mum made a little box for him with his picture on it and printed a verse from "All creatures great and small" on it. I don't think I could have asked for a better send off for him.
RIP my little homie. I hope you're frolicking with all the other guinea babies on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
