I live in Scampton village, famous for the Dambust
Guess what :D :D :D :D
I've just phoned the headmaster to ask what he has decided about the piggy and rabbit - thought I ought to before I turned up outside the school gate with a petition :) He has another hutch being brought in this morning :D YEAHHHHH!!
He has had time to discuss and digest what I had said and they are being separated today O0
He said that he has contacted the R.S.P.C.A to arrange for an education officer to come in an educate the children and adults ;D about how to care for them.
Obviously he said he now has a dilemma about two lonely animals which he is mindfull of and will be taking advice on this.
I bet he wishes he had listened to me in the first place about taking the kids to the R.S.P.C.A. before getting any animals ::)
I have decided that as a result of this and the obvious ignorance of some people I am going to write an article about piggies for the local newspaper, maybe even tell the paper about the school dilemma and about adopting Mildred and about all the care piggies need and about the importance of rescue.
I am sooooooo pleased :) :) :) :) :) :)
Thanks guys for all your efforts, together we will change peoples ignorance O0

I'm so delighted for you love. Well done you for standing up for what you know is right :)

Well done ! O0
when writing the article for the paper, try and ensure it comes across positively from the schools point of view - show that they have asked for help and are educating the children in the correct manner, after advice from you. That way you will keep the headmaster on your side...

good luck

Carrie x

That's a fantastic result, well done! Proof that we can all make a difference O0

I agree with CarrieB, in fairness to the school they have done the right thing (even if it was after a shaky start!) but you have done a brilliant job and now the animals, school and pupils will now benefit from your actions and standing up for what you believe in - great job! :)

great news!! So pleased the school finally listened and seperated them :)

well done! Great progress! Every little bit counts towards raising awareness and helping the animals O0 :)

Well done! Just think how many people will get to know the proper way to keep rabbits and guinea pigs. Then the pupils and staff will pass on their new knowledge to friends and families! O0

Hi guys, I have finished writing my newspaper article, kept it very much guinea pig care, awareness of not housing them with bunny's and promoting rescue big time, have sent a gorgeous piccie of Bethany cuddling Mildred along with it :smitten:
Just got to wait and hear from the chap I spoke to as when it will be in the paper O0
I decided not to mention anything about the school - I think they have already learnt a harsh lesson and look like they are going to continue to learn as much as they can O0

WELL DONE LOVE :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

awwwwwwwwwww the piggie and the bun will be so much better off this way, now they should consult you whenever they need to do anything with them O0 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Guess what :D The piggy has a companion :) Bethany said that it is one of it's brothers ( they are both boys), apparently whoever had these piggies they were from an unwanted pregnancy :-\ At least they will get cared for and I will be keeping my eye on things ;) and Bethany is on piggy and bunny watch when she's at school and I know if she was worried about anything she would tell me straight away O0

That's brilliant news! Has bunny had jabs? And also what about Spaying/neutering? :)

glad the piggy has a friend, perhaps you could suggest finding the bunny a good home as i don't think the school could have 2 bunnies. so glad everything has turned out well for you and your daughter and especially for the bunny and piggy. is there some way us people in oz could see your article going into the paper? again good news all round O0 well done to you and your daughter, hoping the bunny can go to a good home :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

When the article goes in the paper I'll paste the link on a thread for everyone to see :)
I'll work on them with the Bunny and hopefully when the R.S.P.C.A. education officer goes into the school he may get them to think about the Bunny - can't see them parting with it :-\ If anything they will maybe consider getting it a companion O0
