Has anyones guinea pig suffered with impacted poo. I have heard you have to suppliment their food with vitamin B, Could do with some help from anyone who has experienced this problem

Impaction is caused by a slackening of the anul muscles. The boar will need to be checked at least once a day.,because it is best to keep the anus as empty as posssible.A build op of impacted feces will get hard and uncomfortable and if left for any time could cause a blockage.Gently squeeze the lump out.Often there are normal pellets as well.If the boar is passing these there is no need for supplementation. The best way to do this if needed is to feed the large cocophargy pellets from another pig. These contain vitimin B12 which is why the gps reingest them.

i have 2 piggies who get impaction. i check them every day to make sure they are ok, and to clean up if needed. i dont do anything else special for them as all my pigs get unlimited hay and readi-grass
