I'm inundated with foster piggies at the moment. One in particular is very poor body condition and was badly impacted. With a bit of care I managed to free all the old build up and along with a much needed nail clip the piggy is now so much more mobile and comfortable. He's been switched from the muslie he was formally on to a grain free pellet and is getting a probiotic along with fresh veggies paying particular attention to his vit c intake. He will of course be off to the vet for a full checkup. Sadly it looks to be a long term problem, but I'm hoping it will be manageable and that he can live the rest of his years as he deserves as he really is such a sweet character. Is there anything else I'm missing that would be beneficial? He eats plenty of hay and now hes able to walk properly he much more active which I know is important.
