Thanks for posting that Debbie, have to admit I started panicking with my old lady meows after hearing the tiger from Bronx zoo had caught it etc but ill with seizures so not kept up with it all. Was worried for them, not me! Mine are indoor OAPs anyway and hopefully will avoid any troubles! Me too but they’re more important! xx

I have an oap cat as well, and although he does like to go out he sticks mainly to our garden. When I was the new story this morning I was furious! Some people need only the smallest excuse to cause harm or death to animals and this sort of story doesn’t help! I volunteer at a cat rescue and some of the cats arrive there in such a state - the cruelty of some people is hard to believe. I hope this doesn’t cause more abandoned animals when rescues aren’t able to take them in as they’re in lockdown.

It did seem a bit weird when I heard saw the headline. That would have resulted in so many panic dumpings or worse. I've been sharing this where I can, although my cat is already indoors only, I would have had quite the task trying to keep our old cats inside as they were mostly ex ferals and one from a hoarder so to them outside was their safe place.

Thank you for this information. I was scared when I heard the news. Harrison goes for a potter outdoors but doesn’t go far and doesn’t like to be touched by other people. It would be cruel to stop his routine. Austin and Morris are indoor cats.

Yes the report of cases in tigers had me wondering if COVID 19 was dangerous for cats. Luckily the only times my cat goes outside anyway is when he is on his leash.

my cat Katie has recently had major surgery for mammory cancer.i will not able to keep her in,she would jump out at speed out 0f the door when putting rubbish in the bin.she had to be kept indoors for the wound to heal. so it would cause more stress for her to keep in .
