A staff meeting of all forum staff and mods has taken place this evening (8th June 2009) and as a result of our discussion there are some important issues that we feel need to be raised with all forum members.
1. Spam - we are very aware that spam is an ongoing issue however by posting about it you are making the forum even more vulnerable as spam bots will pick up on the term "spam". If you see a spammer it is only necessary to report one of their posts and we will be able to remove them and all their posts from one report. Posts debating spam will be removed to protect the safety of the forum.
2. Mod team - we are aware that some members are concerned that we need more moderators. We have discussed this issue in depth and have reached the conclusion that the team we have now perfectly meets the needs of our community and so we will not be recruiting any staff members at this moment in time. This may be subject to change in the future but at the moment our team is fantastic
3. Board conduct - we have been made aware of a very disturbing and unsavoury practise both on and off the forum which we feel needs to be urgently addressed. Members are taking it upon themselves to join forces and alienate other forum members. This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and any members found to be involved in this sort of practice will be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
All members are also reminded to check the forum rules about politeness while posting as it seems that people are very quick to post unnecessary unkind and unhelpful comments and this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
The rules exist to protect our community and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping our forum as the safe and happy place we all love
