i've waited over 8 weeks to get them together, I'm so excited. Please pray for me that they get along!
I cant cope with another failed bonding lol.

I tried to upload a video, but its not working?
just as well, i'm just talking most of the way through it, lol.

Best of luck! Just have a look at our guides at the top of the behaviour section.
Unfortunately, we do not have an upload facility; you will have to upload elsewhere on a public setting and then copy the video or link into your post.

Thank you! i was gunna put it off because they've been scratching alot, but their both being treated for it identically, so i didn't see the point in putting it off any longer.
Lunas being a really nippy with him and he's being such a wonderful little gentleman, poor boy.
She's so quick with her teeth for nothing, lol.

Ahh, ok, i was just trying to putoad it the way i would an image.
Ugh, ill not bother, uploading it on youtube takes forever.

Dominance is essential for establishing a hierarchy; keeping a boar in his spot is usually more pronounced when a sow is not in season.

She just wont back down and chill out, as soon as he goes near her she starts that wimpering worried sound.
He's wondering about popcorning and rumblestrutting.
Then they do that nose to nose thing with their heads raised and then she snaps at him.

They've both taken naps
She's popcorned twice which is great.
& she's followed him about a couple of times (which is so good, because shes such a nervous scared pig who doesnt like anyone in her "zone" lol) but then he takes that as a cue to get all friendly and starts rumble strutting and she starts chattering at him

Sound good?

I wish they would just have a snog so i could go sort their cage! haha

The wimpering/whining sound is what sows do around boars. It translates as "I am not in season - YET". you have to get used to that. it is usually at its worst just before sows come into season, when they drive the poor guys mad by sitting next to them and shrilling their ears full! :mal:

It sounds about par for the course with her making a bid for the top spot; but they have definitely moved past acceptance into the dominance sort-out with nothing out of the ordinary. ;)

Thank you again @Wiebke ! Can I ask your real name?

I hate that whining sound, it cuts through you like when a baby cries, I hate when she does it, lol
EEEEE! I'm so excited! I'll need to get myself a hat for the wedding!

oh! one more Q sorry, do i need to wait for the dominance to be established before I can put them in the cage together?

My real name is Wiebke (pronounced like Veebka). ;)

You will have to get used to the whining and learn to appreciate the nuances... Just think how it is with 4 neutered boars and 18 sows here! :D

Things will calm down to an extent as they go along. The first few seasons are bound to be much stronger and pretty dramatic; it is part of the cross gender bonding process.

Your names so unusual! It sounds german or russian? i love it!
Omg....do they all live together?
I knew you had a lot of pigs in your tribe, but i thought it was like 9-10 you had, haha.

That's them in their cage now.

They're still a little wary of each other and aren't exactly best buds, but things look good.
Wish I could give them their beds back. I feel bad they have no cosy beds for night time. Lol

My name is Friesian; it runs along the Dutch coast across Northern Germany and then as Vibeke through Scandinavia.

In the wake of Terfel's and Mali's death, I have currently got 6 groups, but as I still have got an elderly and increasingly frail piggy in two of the pairs, the number and arrangement is bound to change again. You can see the list in my signature (although I need to update it yet again).
