in your opinion what makes the better pet and reasons why sow or boar?

My boy is fine now but use to be nippy , my other one (rip) was the devil in disguise :o
 
I'm not sure, my girls are a lot more lively and noisy than my boy, they are more entertaining to watch and they're so cute and funny. Ralfie (my boy) is a lot more trusting and loving than the girls, we've had the girls about 2 months and they are nowhere near as trusting and loving as Ralfie who we've only had about 4 weeks i think? The girls are a lot more messy than Ralfie but he smells a bit worse! So depends on what you want out of the pet :) i love them all in different ways! x
 
Sows and boars to me are exactly the same
they both can bond no matter what
both are lovable
boars are more relaxed and so are the sows

My pets are all very affectionate and what makes them a better pet is your attention that you give them :D
 
my archie is a babe , can be grumpy but Bruno was evil hed try and pull my dressing gown off! maybe its the colour as my rabbit doesnt like my dressing gown either. hmmm

honestly....maybe its me and they dont love me :'( my boy was outside but now hes indoors hes much better even wheeks at me when i call his name , so I'm guessing hes starting to love me, i tempt him with cucumber :smitten:

my rabbit goes mental with my dressing gown, its blue so i wonder if its the colour or the texture?
 
I think they all have individual personalities none of my piggies are the same and I have boars and sows. One of my girls is a little minx while others are fine and take life as it comes. My boars are cheeky little chappies and loveable so I guess you just have to work with what you have and take them for who they are ;)
 
oh i agree with you there dazie i love my boy to bits, i actually like him cos he can be grumpy at times :D

the other one was evil but i loved him (not as much as archie) but he was a character. I just wondered as some people have said they prefer sows as the boars have been on the nippy side and as mine were too. But thats not the case ;)
 
I think boys are more adventrous but girls are more affectionate
Personally I prefer girls because you have to clean boys rear ends when theyre older but I'm happy to have either
 
I find Digby my boar way more affectionate than any of my girls, they are all daft tbh they run round all nutty digby comes over for a chin tickle and a ear rub :smitten: :smitten:
 
I have never had sows but have 6 boars. They all have different personalities and I love them :smitten: :smitten:
 
My boys are so affectionate. Cuzzy and Sunshine have both been house pigs so are really tame. Sunshine comes running up to us everytime he sees us and popcorns. Cuzzy will lick you. Twinkle is a little more reserved but is so much better than he was he will popcorn when he sees us too.
The boys are very active, they are never still on your knee except for 10 mins or so!

My girls are very shy, will sit for ages on my knee but run away in the hutch although they now let me stroke them in the hutch which is great!

I think it depends on the individual pig. I got my boys from pet shops which may explain why they are highly active and now I'm trying to do my best for them they are happy to be here.

The girls were from a rescue so have been treated right from day one, they are probably just chilled out.

Whatever your choice I would say rescue pigs would be better to go for than pet shop pigs but I'm glad I've got my boys too they are cheeky monkeys!

I have two boys, one is affectionate, licks and loves cuddles, the other is timid, hates being picked up. I think it's an individual thing with each piggie.
