aAAARGH! Helvetes jävla elände! (I think swearing is not permitted, but does it count if you do it in a foreign language?)

My new cage is nearly done and I was gonna cut the inco pads to size. They've been folded up since the last wash, about 10 days ago, and when I picked them up I thought "Hm, don't they seem a little bit damp?" Sure enough... Damp and smelled of mildew...

The water proof layer makes them dry really slowly. I was gonna remove it anyway as the bottom of the cage is waterproof in itself and it was just extra weight, but now I have one more reason...

No available washing machines (we have a communal laundry) until tomorrow morning. Are they gonna be dangerous for the piggies even if I wash them at 95 degrees? I spent quite a bit of money on them and would hate to just throw them out. Any thoughts?

So... to the advice part... When washing your inco pads, make sure they are really really dry before you fold them up Because they have a waterproof layer they won't dry that last percent folded up...

Oh no!

I would wash them on the hot wash then dry them in direct sunlight. Should be ok I would think. Pigs will be on the fleece anyway. :)

That's great advice, Flips! I think I would wash them in a biological detergent to kill any fungal spores...

Thanks!

I know you make a difference between bio and non bio washing powders but I don't think we do here? How about adding some chlorox?

It's clorine. so yes, a bleach (the swimming pool kind :)))

I have Virkon at home, it takes away fungal stuff, might give it a rinse with that...
