Ok, so i bought my two boys inside a couple of weeks ago as decided it was to wet and windy outside now, they are currently residing in there indoor cage in my daughters room(actually her pigs, but I do all the work). Does any one have any cheap toy ideas to keep them happy, I do the usual, have a ball, shove straw and veg treats into a kitchen roll holder, change the hutch around. What about getting them out and giving them some exercise, what do you all use to stop them from escaping under furniture etc. Any ideas would be great. Thanks :))

Take them into the room with the least amount of furniture, like the bathroom! You can just let them romp about, or put down cardboard boxes and tubes and toys for them to play with while they explore. It should let them get a bit of exercise, but still eliminate the possibility of escape or damaged furniture. :)

My piggies love running round the bathroom, they get so hyper! Its easy to clean and no need to corner off any wires etc. mypiggies also enjoy their floor time everyday :)

Also great if they decide to go to the toilet! Easier to clean up, if you have a tiled floor that is!

I like the wikihow article "how to entertain your guinea pig". It has some fun ideas like filling a box/tray with hay and hiding treats at the bottom for them to find. Or making a tent out of an old sheet and chairs for them to explore. (:

I started using a cardboard box with a favourite towel, I would pop the box on the floor and it turned into a safe retreat instead of hiding behind the sofa or washing machine lol. It's easier to catch them as well when they are in the box.I use other card board boxes, tunnels, newspaper forges! Lol as I know they love tunnelling and exploring. I try to change things round each time so the lay out isn't always the same. I have wooden flooring in the lounge so its easy to clean ,I also lay down 3 large old towels and that makes the little run area!

I run my boys in my hallway because lino is so easy to clean. Some I get my brothers to sit with their legs out and create a pen so the can't escape under sofas etc.

A favourite game at the moment is building shoe box and magazines obstacle courses. Just hide food everywhere are that is great fun.
