i know this might not be the place, but i just went out for lunch and by the gate around the corner, there is a seagull just sitting there - i stopped, but it doesn't look too good, whether it's injured or not I'm not sure - thing is I just can't leave it! Someone said to me - oh dont worry about it - but being the soft person i am with animals i want to help it! The nearest RSPCA is like 30 miles from here, and they will probably say they are too busy!

Be careful if you approach it - they are notorious for hurting humans especially if they are injured. Would you have anywhere for it to shelter if you could manage to catch it? What would you feed it?

If you ring the rspca and tell them you've found an injured seagull, they should be able to advise who you can take it to for treatment. I would ring them first anyhow. You might need to do the running around though. Once I found an injured baby seagull in the garden, we rung the RSPCA and they gave us the name of a wildlife savvy vet who we had to take it to. Unfortunately it had to be pts as it was too badly injured, but at least it didn't suffer.

well i couldn't take it home - i dont drive and get the train home so there's no way i could do anything with it - i might have a look after work and see if it's still there and if it is will ring RSPCA and see what they say - thing is its right by the pub and tonight being Friday there will be so many durnks around that area it would probably get killed...

ring the rspca, they can advise at least. they may have a van in the area. dad rescued a seagul at school and the rspca dealt with him. keep us posted. :)

Awww poor thing. As the others have said, ring the rspca so at least they can advise. If you tell them where it was seen, they may send someone over. I found an injured Pigeon once when I was younger and took him home on the bus (I got some really strange looks). My mum doesn't drive and my dad was on his way home from work. My mum put him in a shoe box in the garden until my dad got home so we could take him to the vets. Unfortunately he died before we got him to the vets but at least he died in a safe place and not in the centre of town. He is still buried in my parents garden :)
