After G passed away on Wednesday, there was a huge gap left in the family and Minty was very quiet. He clearly needed company so I decided I would look for a friend for him sooner rather than later. So, today we went and found one for him. He is a P@H pig, but after looking very carefully, there were no 'baby' pigs to be found anywhere else around here. There were lots together so I didn't have the guilty feeling of splitting up an established group. I saw a little nose poking out of a tube and immediately knew he was the one!

Polo was introduced to Minty at about 5pm. Andrew has just been up to have a look at him and Minty and Polo are lying side by side in the pigloo! Strangely quite like Minty and G used to do...eek! There was a little bit of sniffing and rumbling earlier on - Minty couldn't catch Polo to hump him!

Anyhow, introducing Polo - a pig to fill the gap left by G, but not to replace him. Very similar in look at the moment...will have to see what personality emerges...I think G would approve!xoxo

Polo is adorable. Am so glad Minty has a new friend.

I love black piggies, and this one is just so cute! Hope he's settling in, cant wait to hear stories of this little fella! lovely photos :)

When you first handed him to me, Emma, my heart did a flip, as it was like seeing Garry! He's an adorable little guy and I am so glad that Minty seems to approve. I bet they will be great friends in no time at all.

Welcome little Polo! You are going to have a lovely life with Emma and Andrew! x

He's very similar isn't he?! Seems quite similar in temperament too at the moment. It's almost like he knows he has a job to do! Have just stuck my head around the corner and saw Moo. Checked the pigloo and there was nothing...little Polo was in the chube! Blimey, he can't half run! :))

Aww he is a cutie, glad to hear that he is settling in so well.

I am amazed at how quickly Moo has taken to little Polo. I didn't do the neutral territory thing (erradicating the existing piggy's smell is unfair in my book) - just cleaned the cage out normally. Moo was sitting on the towel G used to use to go to the vets so I am wondering if having the scent of G around helped? Maybe I have confused Moo a little and he's thinking Polo seems quite familiar with a hint of G? ?/ Stranger things have happened!:x

Polo is beautiful - I also love Black piggies.

Congratulations!
