i'm hoping rocky doesn't hate us for getting a new guineapig so soon, but rolo seemed extremely tearful, and he kept turning his back on us and walking away, so we felt it for the best.
we introduced rolo to caramac, a 12 week old boar earlier this week, and he immediately cheered up!
whilst in the bath tub, before the shower was turned on he attempted to groom his new friend; and since then he's been a protective parent too him keeping a watchful eye on nick and i whenever we hold him. he even sleeps with his head on caramacs back!
caramac on the other hand follows rolo around, and even eats when he eats.
caramac is currently 490g (not much less than rocky when he passed away rip), and we reckon he will grow to quite a size as he is a rather sturdy piggie, with a big appetite.
he has already got his chunky body stuck in a snack shack much to mine and nicks horror (we prompt removed the snack shacka nd broke it into pieces to avoid a further incident).
anyway that's enough rambling, so please let me introduce caramac (aka as mr wrigglesworth a she is a terrible wriggler!)
caramac in his "human daddys" arms (my hubby nick)
meeting his "adoptive dad" (rolo) for the first time in the bath tub pre shower
and drying off together post shower
we then let them play out of the cage together for a few hours during this time they seemed to get on well
the pair of them enjoying a good snuggle on my knee having munched through teh veggies and hay
in fact fatherhood seems to be suiting rolo - he has suddenly become extremely laid back, coming over for belly/side rubs!
after a number of hours together we were satisfied they were getting along some put them into a nice clean cage, and watched them for a further few hours.they have now eben together for two nights and so far the novelty of fatherhood doesn't seem to of worn off for rolo
