Adult Guinea Pig
Here is Dexter, he came to me a fortnight ago. I am fostering him until he can go onto his new forever home in a months time.
I took a phone call about him just over a fortnight ago his young owner was bored of him and was failing to look after him. She admitted she was bored of him and agreed to hand him over, the lady then contacted me asking if I could help. I agreed immediately.
He is gorgeous, so loving and affectionate his owner has given him very little attention so he is nervous about being handled. He had no hay in his cage and the suspicion is that he hadn't had any for some time, his cage was filthy and he was being fed only occasionally, the same with his water. The vet estimates he's around 300g underweight but boy does he love his grub and has putt 100g on in a fortnight.
He has teeth problems but he is to weak to undergo surgery however, the vet thinks that he will wear them down himself now that he's eating the right diet.
He's got a bit of a cold at the minute but that aside he's doing well. The little man has stolen my heart.
