Introducing Dexter to Logan

Well Logan is almost 5 months old and we went to the pet shop today just to look... and of course they had a beautiful texel piggie who was living alone with a very large rabbit, out of concern and love I had to rescue him so Logan now has a new play mate called Dexter...

they've been in the play pen for 15 minutes and all Logan has done is Rumblestrut and run around being territorial, poor Dexter has been humped and sniffed and jumped on but so far so good :) I really hope this works out!

Logan is three omths older than Dexter so I'm hoping he takes the dominant role I know its risky... wish us luck!
 
:) Good luck with the introductions. Keep us posted on how it goes. Look forward to seeing pics of the new boy :).
 
Yaay!

Well they've been in the play pen for almost three hours and they're currently just sitting together quietly in Dexters pedigree chum box we got him in, its so cute, Logan rumbles every now and then but they look really cute and comfy together, I'm hoping this lasts when they go into their cage.
 
Ooops

I tottally got Dexter's breed wrong, he's not a Texel piggie at all he's actually a Rex! *doh* feeling silly now..

All is well in guinea pig land its been almost six hours and they're getting on great, its so nice to see them together. Shame I'm working nights and miss they're first night together in the cage
 
Glad they're getting on well and that you saved Dexter from the evil rabbit hehehe! x

I'm appauled that they keep their guinea pigs with Rabbits, it wasnt even a little one it was about the size of a grown cat and he was very bouncy, I might write a letter to the shop about it, I do worry about these things

When we got romeo and flora, flora was in with 2 rabbits thats why we got her. she was absolutely tiny! Glad dexter and logan are getting on.
 
Well after two days together things are going well, Logan has become very dominant and protective of Dexter he keeps rumbling if either me or my boyfriend approach the cage/play pen, having a buddy has really brought out his personality and its nice that they're more active together :) fingers crossed they are going to be life long friends, off on one weeks holiday on friday! Eddie's dad is looking after them, I'm going to worry a lot whilst away...
