Milo paid a visit to Coseley Guinea Pig Rescue on Saturday and was introduced to a number of potential new friends. After a couple of false starts he found his new companions. So here we are introducing Pol who is just twelve weeks old and is mainly black but has a beautiful white nose stripe that runs down her face and under her chin and Maud who is a few weeks older, has mainly agouti colouring and looks like her butt has been dipped in white paint. I had forgotten how fast young guinea pigs are, they seem to run around the cage at the speed of light. Poor Milo just can't keep up with them and looks quite puzzled when they disappear.

They seem to be settling in well, Maud is already brave enough to come out of hiding when i am in the piggy room but Pol is still very nervous. I'm sure Pol will get used to us in the coming weeks. Pol currently won't eat veggies (she didn't at the rescue either), we are hoping that watching the others enjoying them will encourage her to have a taste.

Well hello, you beauties. :wub::wub:

Milo has chosen well. Clever boy!

Hope that the ladies soon settle in and start enjoying their veggies.

Aw Yvonne, they’re blooming gorgeous! :luv: Hope they both settle in well and Milo is enjoying his speedy company!:wub:
Jasper said he definitely understands about those mini-pig blurs running around the cage, they do slow down a bit eventually Milo! :)) xx

Milo has certainly good taste, even if getting used to babies and life in the fast lane is taking a bit of time...
He must be so happy!

Thanks everyone. Milo was not doing well on his own, he had become very withdrawn. Even though i wasn't really ready for new piggies so soon after losing Hazel and Georgie, i realised that we had to look after Milo's best interests.

The girls are a delight and are properly giving Milo the run around. They have had their first floor time today and met the other piggies through the bars of the run. Every pig was very excited and there was lots of popcorning and zoomies.

Beautiful girls, very glad they have lifted Milo's spirits and started a new chapter in his lucky piggy life x

A little update on the girls. Maud and Pol have settled in well. Maud is so very bossy and greedy, she already weighs 1kg. Pol is still growing and weighs over 850g, she is quite feisty but being the smallest piggy at the moment, tends to come bottom of the pecking order. Milo loves them both and even though he has been poorly still follows them both around as though he thinks they may disappear if they are not in sight. Milo is awaiting a further ultrasound (our vet is still waiting for their ultrasound machine to be returned following repairs) but on a low dose of Metacam the weight loss has stopped and he has regained a few grams.
