Is any itching normal or likely to be mites?

2 girls i picked up from sanctuary do seem to like a scratch so i'm presuming they may have mites?

Will be off to vet on Mon or Tue for check up anyways but thought i'd ask.........

OMG you've got pigs, where are the pics? ;D

Some itching is normal but if they are really scratching and have sores on the rump or red areas more than likely it is mites. Also could be lice which is easily treated with Lice N Easy. If they are dark coloured piggies and it is lice you may be able to see them running through the fur if you are quick.

I'd also ask the rescue if they treated the pigs for mites as many do routinely.
