Hi! What are you treating your guinea pigs for? Beaphar is too low dosed to deal with an acute case of mange mites. You need ideally a proper vet diagnosis and higher doser ivermectin products for that.

If you want to use it for prevention, you have to be aware that you could help any mange mite eggs that are already in the skin to develop resistence, so I would recommend not to, as cases of this happening are being reported. Resistence to ivermectin is very worrying as before mange mites could only be managed and not cured, and many pets have died a slow and agonising death because of that.

It won't harm them, as it can be given orally, but I agree with Wiebke about the worrying resistance of mites to ivermectin. I no longer do any preventative treatments for this reason.

agree that seeing a vet is best if you suspect mites. you get the better treatment straight away. ours don't recommend preventative treatment (exotic specialist) because you just add un-necessary chemicals to the body when they're not needed, and there is the risk of resistance aswell. just treat as and when there is a problem :)

there was one our vets warned us about never using but i can't remember what it was. it might have been the bob martin one actually. but even so, some pets are having reactions to these ones you can buy yourself so i'd only use ivermectin and under supervision from the vet :)
