Is it better with two guinea pigs? I would think it would be better to keep each other company so they would be happy ;D.But how much are guinea pigs normally in a pet store? ?

where are you from? The US? Or Canada?

Your best bet would honestly be to search out a rescue centre that has guinea pigs. While it is easy to go to a pet shop and buy a couple of guinea pigs they could be mis sexed and have lots of health issues, meaning a huge bill for the vet for you, and possibly an early death for the piggie.

I have a single pig but the rescue that he came from told me that he had to be homed by himself as he doesnt like other guinea pigs.
He is violent towards them
(Sadly a product of early life neglect)

2 is better, as they are sociable animals and should not be kept alone. 2 rescues - even better!

Depending on where you are from, in the UK pigs cost anything from a few pounds right up to about £30 depending on breed etc.

I do have some single pigs but they are around other pigs all the time and get lots of attention - better to have a pair if you can

If you think about it - even if you have loads of time and spend like, 6 hours a day playing and cuddling your guinea pig, that still means that it would be on its own for 18 hours a day. That is a long time to be alone in a cage. Which is why you should always have them in pairs :)

I believe there is a pig for eveyone. 2's a better I like a larger herd for girls its so funny seeing them all run around together. :smitten:

When I adopted Connie, she was a single pig. Her house mate had died a few weeks before :( I'd only had her for 2 days before guilt set in and I ended up with Eliza. They have bonded well and have lived happily together ever since :smitten:
