I've been putting the piggies outside in their outdoor run, i wait until about 1pm so its warmer by then and I make sure they only have 1-2 hours . Do you think this is okay or will they be cold ?

I have been putting mine out too, if the grass is dry and the sun is out. I never put my piggies on wet grass.

I test it by going out in a t-shirt to see if I feel too cold.

Well some times the sun is on our garden and its lovely and warm, as long as the grass isnt to damp and you arent leaving them out for long I think they are fine when mine get cold they huddle together so I pop them back in. I have to say all that eating grass must keep them warm, they go at such a rate you can almost see the steam coming outta their ears ;D ;D

Hi Karen,

If they are outdoor pigs anyway then they shoudl be ok. But if they are indoors usually I wouldn't as it may disturb then and could result in them getting cold. But maybe I am just too cautious.

I havent turned the heating on yet this year, so my house is no warmer than outside when its sunny.

I wouldnt put my pigs out today. Its grey and cold! I only put them out at this time of year if the sun is out keeping the world warm!

Usually they are outdoor piggies but for the next few months they'll be in the conservatory, shall I have the heating on or not ? it does get very chilly in there so I am having the heating on but not sure if I'm right to do this.

When guinea pigs get old they get to be hard little animals you'know.I dont put mine out when its windy but if its cold i'll put them at the bottom of the gard for about 30mins then pop them back in with lots of hay. ^_^

Gilbert goes out if its dry. I convert my bed into a play area if its wet outside. I put a waterproof cover over my bed and a fleece throw over that and all his toys for him to play with. he likes me to play with his ping pong ball with him.

Mine are inside piggies and on a few really nice days I've thought I'd put them out for a bit but my garden isn't very sunny so it's too damp and miserable for them :( They seem happy to have a run round inside though with a big pile of grass.
