My pigs have a grass house which they love to bits (literally, they eat it and it's falling apart) but they tend to go in there to do their business. The poos are OK because I can just shake them out, but the wee is a big problem. It stinks and I'm worried about them lying in stinky wee (not that they seem to mind).

Would it be possible to "rinse" the wee out and somehow dry it? Or would it go mouldy?

Maybe you could spray it with hutch/cage spray, scrub it with an old toothbrush and hang it out in the sun to dry? If it can take their wee, it will be fine. :)

I've never tried this, but only an idea, maybe wash it and put it straight in the airing cupboard, will dry much quicker in there.

You want to be careful about spraying it with anything, if they might eat the grass afterwards.

I tend to think of the grass houses as quite disposable, as they do get quite messy! Mine eat theirs though rolleyes

I would just buy them a new one, but at over £10 a go I want to make this one last lol.
They do have a ball-shaped one as well but they can't seem to figure that one out ... they just tip it over and eat it. rolleyes

My grass house has no bottom so it doesn't get dirty. I bought a rabbit-sized one from Jollye's, which is still just about big enough for two piggies, and they always pee and poo in it. But you just pick it up and the mess stays on whatever it was sat on - simples!

when I had one I just rotated it everyday do wet bit was ontop so it could dry when it got too smelly i chucked it!
