Is it safe to give the piggys weeds aswell as grass?.

Our little ones love the grass that hubby brings in from the garden,
I know that dandylion is ok, but what about the other weeds?.
I see from posts that not all green vegtables are good, so is it the same for wild weeds?.

When the girls go outside to forage on the grass they also eat plaintain and clover but a big no to buttercup, daisy and dock. The vet has also said they can eat chickweed but I've never given it to them. I'm sure there must be a link on the forum for a more detailed list.

Dandelion and clover are OK in small quantities (dandelion is mildly diuretic and clover high in calcium).
The one lawn weed you should avoid is creeping buttercup - that is poisonous. to guinea pigs.

And be VERY careful of ragwort which looks like buttercup. Evil nasty stuff, not found so much in domestic gardens but still one to watch.

I take out anything that looks suspiciously like buttercup, well most weeds if i don't know what they are
