My GP, Blizzard is lying on his side curled up breathing really fast. I think he made a few attempts to stand up but couldnt. He's just lying there. About every minute he curls round to try and nip at his leg but then goes still again. I'm not sure whats going on. Should I phone the vets? Has anyone else had something like this before?IMG_20190512_173225902.webp

Please get him seen by a vet asap, the fast breathing and the fact he can't stand up is very worrying x

I phoned the vets and was answered by an answerphone basically saying their "24 hour emergency service" did not expand to sundays. I left him for 30 seconds and when I came back he was up and was walking around. He has now been walking fine for over 5 minutes and seemingly fine. I'm now not quite sure whats happening as one miute he was down and the next he's fine.

Yes. It has been really hot lately and they were outside earlier

I’d keep a very keen eye on him if he’s walking around now, but contact another vet if he starts sinking again. Hope he stays fine now, could have been a bit of heat stroke?
