Hi
I just wondered what the average bore weight is? The books and info I have read aren't consistent and one of my piggies weighs more than any of the info states.
Sam is just over a year and weights 1500grams. He recently lost his cage mate and got a new friend called Dillon who is about 4 months and weighs 800grams.
They get plenty of hay and grass and I try to make this the majority of their diet. They get 2/3 small portions of veg a day (spring greens, celery, cucumber, carrot, lettace, and occasionally apple) and they get a very small portion of nuggets morning and night.
My pigs are "free range" they are never shut in a cage and have a whole room to themselves with toys and tunnels and when I am home they also get access to the rest of my flat. Although I don't have a garden I take them up to my parents for a run in their garden when I can (although they don't seem so keen outside now that the weather is cooler).
Sam was not that active recently when his cage mate was ill and as I was always tring to encourage his mate to eat I think Sam got a bit much but now he a lot more active as Dillon is very adventurous and Sam follows.
I wonder if any one had any tips? Does Sam need to lose weight?
I don't want to do him any damage by being over weight, he is still a happy pig and popcorns about.
Any info is much appreciated
