Did this just happen?! I’m so pleased ….

So she had her back to me in the tunnel and as I was doing the dishes I said to her, “Am I getting the order of the butt Pansy?”
She turned right round and stared up at me! Then, THEN she came running over to me with her wee face just looking up at me! No sound - just came over and looked at me!

Well she had to have a pea flake for that! And she sat still to get her nose and ears scratched! I AM SO HAPPY! The nose of Zola got a pea flake too - I assume the rest of her was in the tent 🤣

It is taking a long time, but I think, especially Pansy, but to some extent Zola, they are starting to choose to interact with me!

What are your taming stories - tips, timescales, triumphs, or not as the case may be?

Every bit of progress is a big deal. I've had my Elizabeth for 3 years and she's still quite skitty so everytime she does something new, I'm proper proud of her :)
Elizabeth’s gorgeous - such a lovely colour!

In 2012 I took on a pair of boars from a local rescue. They were about 18 months old (guesstimate) and had not been handled much at all so were wild as anything. I moved them into my living room and they would scatter into the hideys any time there was a noise of any sort. They'd hide when I came down in the mornings to do breakfasts. They'd hide if the telly was on. They were terrified of it all.
But the food kept on coming and they were both good trenchermen and that is what won them round. I think it was about 6 weeks after they arrived that I noticed they were running towards me when I came down in the mornings, rather than running away. That was the turning point. They became really tame (and very vocal!) after that.

Time, patience and FOOD! Yes I think there was a turning point when I discovered the pea flake! 🤣🤣. That’s a lovely story 🥰

Phoebe took about 6 months before she stopped running to hide every time I came near.
She became a lovely confident lady.
You are spot on with Time. Patience. Food

I guess it’s like dog training - gentle handling makes for a good dog that maintains their spirit xx
