Hi there, I have 2 boars One choc and white smooth coat and one red and white long haired coronet. I believe they are both the same age about 3-4 months old i dont think they are brothers but I got them from a petstore rescue area :{someone had too many babys and were trying to get rid of them on the cheap! anyway.. they were both pretty much the same size when I got them and in fact the long haired boy Reilly seems to be bigger than Nummies due to his fluffy long hair.. but in the last month Nummies has gotton HUGE! I know they are defn both boars so I know it not due to breeding ! It doesn't seem to bother Reilly who is definately the boss of them both, Nummies follows him round like a puppy nose to tail so much that Reilly does get ' annoyed' occasionally needing his own space and will ban Nummies from coming in the 'bedroom'. Has Nummies just had a growth spurt?.. His back end is a lovely and fat little rump but Reilly is just all hair and I can feel his back end bones quite alote.. he eats the same from what I can see if anything he eats more as he is so bossy . nothing out of the ordinary poo wise.. etc etc . Could it be that they are just Different!

Pigs vary in size and weight even if from the same litter - have you weighed them? I would pop them both on the scales and keep a note, then weigh regularly. I go by 'condition' rather than weight, so if one feels boney or you can feel / see his hip bones then it sounds like he's not in such good condition. Boys can be quite tricky, it might be that his brother is getting the best pick of the food - try putting in two food bowls, two piles of veg. etc. to give the smaller boy a chance. Have you checked his teeth? It might also be that he's not eating properly.

hi i got both my pigs at the same age too and at 3-4 months Smokey started really growing but Bandit wasn't.it was a simple case of being both boars and Smokey being a pig he was stealing most of the food now i have 2 food bowls and Bandit has just started gaining weight maybe its that but i really think that they are just having growth spurts at different times:)
