Is this a normal rate of poop?

My guinea pigs regularly fill their cage with sloshy poop (faeces mixed with urine) each week so I did an experiment to determine the rate of poop.

In 10 minutes on the sofa, one of my guinea pigs dropped 24 faecal pellets. Maybe it just really needed to go during those 10 minutes, but is that normal?

Depending on when your piggy had eaten last, it is a normal rate. Guinea pigs have a very quick metabolism.

I think it was quite soon after she had ate. She is a poop monster! Thanks for the info

I read or heard some where that they can do 180 poops a day.

24 pellets in 10 minutes
= 144 per hour
= 3456 per day

Maybe mine just really had to go
