We noticed this on Snowball's nose a while back, i've been keeping a very close eye on it and i think its increasing a little. I'm not sure what it is but guessing it's some kind of fungal?

We may have to take Snowball back to the vets soon as his ears are so sensitive i think he's getting ear mites again, they look dirty but it's not dirt as it doesn't come off. But he had ear mites before and it doesn't look the same can the mites infest down the ear canal? His eating normally (his greedy self:)p) so i doubt it's a ear infection.

Pretty sure it's ear mite again though as he has a lot of wax. If this is the case he has been treated numerous times for mites and the drops NEVER seem to work, can the vet give anything else?
The strange thing is Cookie has never had mites, i thought they were very contagious? :^-

I have just been having a similar problem, I thought my baby boar had a fungal infection like ring worm but it turned out to be mange mites or so we hope. Has he got any bald patches on him? My boar started off with a bald patch on his face then got scabby and dry ears and I noticed bald patches on him.

Nope he has no bald patches. He once had bald feet which the vet treated him again for mites:^-

I'm not sure sorry, dont have any experience of fungal infections.

Does he chew the bars of his cage? as it looks a bit like a friction rub, but I wouldnt want to say thats defintely what it is. x

Nope never seen him chew bars, it feels like a scab. Today i noticed that he's scratched it off, so i'm guessing a type of fungal. His going to the vets next week though so no worries:)

It looks like teddy bear nose to me. Dindy has had it for over a year and Cupcake has a very mild version but Tufty is clear. It doesn't appear to cause them any discomfort and I occasionally clear off some of the flakey bits to reveal soft lumpy nodules(?) underneath. It tends to flare up or appear worse during the winter months.

Thank you. Glad to see his not alone! So can it be itchy? Or do you think he just knocked it? As it did bleed. His still happy and hungry though:)

I would guess that he knocked it as I've never seen Dindy or Cuppers scratch theirs. If you look at it closely you will see that there are flakey scabs on soft fleshy nodules, these flakes tend to fall off of their own accord. Having said that, the flakeyness might have caused a bit of irritation, enough to scratch it.
