Is this normal boar behaviour?

Hi everyone,
I've had my 2 boars now for about 7 weeks. They're not babies but no older than about 18 months either. I got them from a lady that rescued around 50 from a shed all living together...males & females....so chances are that they're related. All was ok for a while but in the last week or so they've started squabbling. I haven't seen any serious fights and it's clear who is the more dominant (Choccie), but I'm just abit worried incase one hurts the other. The less dominant one (Ralphie) seems to want to be with Choccie as he follows him around but Choccies not interested and I feel a bit sorry for him as they were paired up in any old pairs I think before I brought them home so it may be that they're not compatible!

I'm just wondering what to do....is this normal behaviour between boars? If not, what would you suggest I do to help them? Neither have been neutered, don't know if that makes a difference ?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks! :)

PS, I live in Lincoln, is anyone else in this area?

neutering doesnt make a difference to boar behaviour

as long as theyre not fighting properly/drawing blood they should be ok just keep a close eye on them to make sure it doesnt get worse. this does happen with boars

Thanks Lez, I've jus been out to them and they're in seperate pigloos! I wonder if they'd be happier living with a girlfriend but is there a max age to get guinea's neutered? Do you think this would be a good option or would it just be best to keep them as they are until they NEED to be seperated!?

I might be worrying about them too much, but you can't help it can you :embarassed:

Hiya Lynz

I'm from Bottesford, Nr Scunthorpe not too far from you. Nice to have someone from my part of the country on here.

I'm lucky as my two boys are little Angels, I'm sure as long as yours have enough space and possible two of everything ie Food bowls, houses etc they should be fine.

What size Hutch are they in?

Hope your boys soon work things out. Would be great to see some pictures.
