Hello this emachild's daughter asking a quick question on her name!
I'm looking after my friends piggy for a couple of weeks so when i picked him up last night she told me something bout piggy. She said he likes to eat biscuits sometimes as a treat. I must have looked worried because she said he only eats the shortbread style ones from Asda.
I was just wondering if this was ok for piggies or will they make him ill?

Thanks!

I wouldnt give him biscuits, if you are caring for him I would stick to the basics veg and his food then you shouldnt have any problems :)

Guineas digestive systems weren't designed to cope with Human food, stick to veggies, grass and hay and dry food and they'll love you for it :)

I agree, even if she feeds it to her piggy, when you are looking after him, just give him the basics! O0

that can't be good for them. while they're at yours, don't give them it! :)

When your friend returns, please try and pursued her to stop giving biscuits. The shortcake,in fact all biscuits, are full of sugar and fat all of which are very bad for piggies.Tell your friend that she could kill her piggy if she continues to feed biscuits as treats.
Favourite veggies are the best treats of all.

Thanks everyone i have told my friend and she is feeling very bad now :'( she asked me to print off a list of good foods for piggies and she will read up on them.
She also thanks everyone for your help!

Also just re-read posts piggie is normal weight and otherwise very well looked after. She is new to piggies and is going to ask me (on my mums name ::) to post for her in future if she is stuck. Thanks again!

Hi , ema here thanks to all who have helped my daughter with her questions.

She has printed out a list of good piggy foods for her friend to read when she gets back from her hols.

I will get my daughter to try and sign her friend up to this site - I know that its been a big help to me with our girlies! ;D

Hopefully with a little advice her piggy will be going back home to an even better life! :)
