We didn't have Woody for long, we took him in in the September and he passed away on the 2 February but he was such a lovely gentle pig, he loved chilling out in a towel after his bath. He wasn't so gentle with Buzz though and was definitely the dominant one. I can remember last 2 February really clearly, came home from work and found him at the top of his ramp on his favourite bit of vet bed (where he could block Buzz from getting through), we think it was most likely a heart attack.

It's probably silly but I have always thought we lost Woody for a reason - so we could help Nigel. Nigel came to live with us not long after as a potential friend for Buzz. We would never have even considered him coming all the way from Cornwall if we had not lost Woody. Soppy I know.

Anyway, here's some lovely pics to remember our lovely Woody:

The first one is from before he came to us:

Love you forever beautiful Woody.

He was a gorgeous boy and he has left a wonderful legacy!

RIP Woody - you have a forever place in your mummy's heart!

Oh Helen - big hugs.

I remember Woody's plight being the reason we first made contact ..and that led on to my decision to get involved with piggy trains, rescue and, of course, my adopted nephew Nigel.

In memory of a very brave and special piggie, who had prevously a really rough time, but landed on his paws with Helen and went peacefully to The Bridge knowing much love and a forever home.

Thanks Pebble, he was a very special pig indeed.

Aww, I remember Woody's passing :( I was so upset for you! He was a lovely boy and you really took good care of him.

Gone but never forgotten :rose

oooh i remember that horrible first piccy and i remember you rescuing him and then all the stories that followed, he was indeed a special piggy.

Thank goodness for people like you guys that help precious little ones in desperate need of basic love and care.

We wont ever forget you little Woody x

What a lovely remembrance to a very special piggie.......

Thank you everyone. We are going to light a candle for him tonight.

What a beautiful little boy *massive hugs*

I cant believe it's a year since his passing :(

I know what you mean about how things turn out, and it was very sad that after showing Woody what real pamered pig life was all about he passed so soon over the bridge, but before he did, he turned and whispered in your ear that Nigel needed your help and loving, and so it was meant to be.

In the green fields where the sun is shining Woody is eating the fresh green grass with Nigel, two little friends getting to know each other sharing stories of their slaves, mummy Helen and Daddy Ross. ;)

Big hugs

R is now laughing his head off at me as am sitting here in bits, but that was such a lovely thing to say and I now have a wonderful image in my head of Woody and Nigel together.

Happy to say that Buzz is thriving at the moment, even with his brain damage and having to have daily painkillers, he is a different pig and he and Beanbag are so close. Little wotsits wheek at me every night before bed as they have realised we grow their grass on the bookshelf in the bedroom.

I didnt know about Buzz having brain damage and being on painkillers?

I'm glad Beanbag is there to be his friend

He has a systemic fungal issue so his nerve endings are painful. He would have had this before we took him in and it was left untreated and so he was left with it in his system and with this brain damage. He doesn't have any external signs of fungal anymore though which is good. We had him off the painkillers for a few days and he became very quiet. It's a low dose but seems to keep him comfortable. The brain damage means that he tends to stare straight ahead and not really react to what is going on around him. Is difficult to describe, he basically lives in Buzz world. We thought it was his eyes at first but they have been checked and it's not. He's had a course of Itrafungol which has helped with his skin and sensitivity.

Oh Helen you've started me off again 8...
Dear Woody a year has gone since you left your devastated mummy, daddy and friend Buzz but you're still so loved and remembered x)xoxo

A beautiful tribute to a gorgeous little guy who had a shocking start to life but came to you both and learnt all about how piggies should live and be loved :)

RIP Woody XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Time goes on, but it doesn't stop you from shedding those special tears for them does it..... HUGS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
