I recently bought a bag of Oxbow cavy cuisine performance for my 3 under 6 month boars who are currently fed P@H pellets as I wanted them to have the best food nutritionally for them.
However the reception has been cold to say the least. I have been mixing it with their current food as directed on the packet for the last week but they pick out the P@H pellets and the bowl is left with the Oxbow untouched. I have read the benefits of the new food to them but they have closed their ears and turned up their noses!rolleyes
Should I persist, leaving just the Oxbow in their dishes or give in gracefully and try something else? If so, what is the next best food?
Thanks in advance.

I would persist... sneakily.

CCC4 recommends trying 3 times before giving up new food... So take Oxbow away for a ffew days and reintroduce and see if there's a difference. It took 4 years for my late Bertie to start eating pellets, he was a muesli only piggy... only when he got ill did he decide that mushed-up pellets were more palatable than mushed-up muesli! :))

It took me three tries to get Dizzy off her beloved Gertie's. In the end, I just sat it out for three weeks until she gave in! The mix-it-in soft approach didn't work with her at all.

Thankfully, pellets are not the main part of the diet (if they have plenty of hay and veg), so you can risk them not eating any for some time without problems and major weight loss (there will a small one, but they recover as soon as they eat the new pellets).

I will persist as advised! My older guineas will eat just about anything but these 3 are more fussy even with veggies. They loved green beans last week when I bought a small trial pack, this week (after buying a larger pack) they have decided they don't like them.
They are a bit like my human kids rolleyes
Thank you for the advice - I think this forum is great and I have learnt so much reading through all the posts.x>>
