hi i am in somewhat of a quandry, i have not long had my first ever 2 piggies, and i have just been offered by a lady 2 young females with a cage.
i dont want to see them in a tierheim, but i am just not sure i have the room.
has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do?

What's a tierheim?
I would find out the reason why she no longer wants them and if you really have no room, point her in the direction of a rescue. Or if you feel they are in danger of neglect, take them from her, and take them to a rescue yourself, or maybe try to rehome them through here on the rehoming section. x

yes it does skirkoplank, i shouldnt have written tierheim really, lol, I'm just getting so used to German.
I'm having mixed emotions about it, i did want 2 more, but didnt realise it could be so soon, but i think i will constantly think how are they doing and did they get a good home, and together as they are sisters.

Personally I would only take them IF you have the room and money to pay for them. If you can offer these things and really want them, then go for it. If not, you could always do what nutmeg has suggested and either point her in the direction of a good rescue or try and re home them yourself xx

money isnt really an issue, my animals always come first anyway, they are my babies.
i know if i took them in i would not take them to a rescue, id keep them, lol

make a list of why you should and why you shouldnt reasons.consider where the cage will go, how much time you can spend with them and if you can afford them

LOL I only JUST (mouthing it out) realised what you wrote, Nutmeg! Sorry, I did French in school, not german but it's the same language group as Swedish. I wouldn't know how to spell anything either :)

I agree with the list suggestion. I find lists very useful in decision making.

I think that's a great idea about making the different list. You should only do it if you really want to, have the money and of, course the time and space.

I have a stupid woman at work who got 2 guinea pigs for her little girl 3 months ago - 2 boys. She had to return one of the boys as they started serious fighting. Now, she has the one boy. She won't listen to me about getting it a friend, despite me going on and on about it. And wait for it........she has told her little girl that when she gets fed up with it, it's coming to stay with me! What?! What kind of attitude is that to have?! I want to take the guinea pig off them now, because I feel so sorry for the little guy - although, she's telling me that they do everything that I've told them to do i.e. give it plenty of attention and floortime. So, I'm just waiting on this little guy coming to me at some point soon.

Oh my, that is awful and setting such a bad example for her little girl grrrr On the other side of the coin, I hope that the little girl does get fed up with him as then at least he'll be able to come and live with you and you will do right by him x
