after being treated at the vets, I need to give my girls a follow up dose of ivermectin spot-on. my local pet shop doesn't have any of the hamster/gerbil spot-on pipettes, and so I bought the guinea pig/rabbit/ferret strength one instead. My piggies are under the recommended weight stated on the box-is it safe to just give them a smaller dose of should I just wait for a week until the smaller dose is back in stock?

If your piggies are under the stated weight, they should ideally be treated with Xeno-50 spot-on if they are below 800g.

That is the product used for treatment while shop spot-ons are dosed for the prevention of mites, but not for clearing them; their concentration is much lower than xeno-50 or xeno-450 for adult piggies above 800g.

Xeno is widely sold online.
