Does anyone know where I can buy some ivomec from? I know its rather expensive..and just wondered if any of you know where to get it from the cheapest? I asked the vets and had never heard of worming guinea pigs! so have no time for them... I am going to start worming my 6 month old girls now for the prevention of mites..Thanks

You can buy Xeno online at Petmeds, which is a topical liquid that you put on the skin for treatment of mites etc. and contains ivermectin.

Ivomec can also be used orally but you have to be VERY careful with the dose as it's a tiny amount and too much can be very harmful. Some members on here buy it in bulk (from cattle / sheep supplies). If you near Vedra at Cambridge Cavy Trust and are a member, she will dispense a bottle to you with a dropper for easy dosing.

I've just bought some Xeno 450 from Vetuk to treat my piggies with to prevent mites and when I took my piggies to the Cambridge Cavy Trust at the weekend, Vedra wormed them with Panacur. I don't know which one she used but I could find out. She recommended treating them once every 3 months if I remember rightly (it's been a long few days)
