Junior & Stewart's new friendship

Today Junior went to Milhaven GPR to try some dating! I was nervous as he's been on his own for nearly 4 months, but turns out I didn't need to be worried at all! Joanne's first choice for pairing, Stewart, was the perfect friend! There's been rumbling, a little mounting and some standing on each other to get to the corner, but all seems very positive right now (and all is quiet in PiggieTown!)

Stewart is a 4 month old Rex cross, who was originally paired with big cuddly Rambo, the Milhaven mascot. Now he seems very happy to be Junior's friend, although he hasn't quite worked out how to get downstairs yet!

AWWW - it is great that both boys have found the friendship they need. They make a very handsome pair indeed!
 
Everything seems OK so far - there's currently one upstairs and one downstairs, but no doubt they're both very tired and nervous about the whole thing! Junior has travelled 120 miles today! Thankfully we have a few days off to monitor how they're getting on. Joanne was so impressed that there wasn't even the slightest sign of aggression from either pig!
 
Wow I have never seen such a lovely and sweet bonding. They look so cute together.

They are a lovely pair: when we got them home and put them down for floor time, they stood in opposite corners - I don't think they'd realised that the other piggie was there too! It's just watching and waiting now for a permanent settle down. :)
 
Update for the morning: I came down this morning to one of the best birthday presents ever - seeing Junior and Stewart both in the bedding area and cuddled up together! Last night they spent most of their time apart, both tired and confused. Now I think they've realised the other is staying put, and Stewart follows Junior everywhere - apart from downstairs! There's been a single teeth chatter last night, and a bit of rumbling but I think these 2 are the best of friends already :)

Brilliant news! Rambo did his job well with Stewart. :) I'm thrilled to bits they are both happy and that Junior has found his best friend at last! Just lovely to hear.
 
It's working really well! Junior is still spending most of his time downstairs, as he's not used to sharing his space, but there are no issues when they actually are together. There's just plenty of rumbling (can't tell who from, it does sound like Stewart!) and then it all calms down again! I think Junior is just a bit grumpy - from what I can tell, Junior is the chatterer who does it to tell Stewart not to get too close :) . But he doesn't mind Stewart following him at all - Stewart is looking for advice on what to do in the hutch and just wants some love.

Sounds exactly like my 2 boys. Hazelnut was the first one. Peanut Butter would follow Hazelnut everywhere and we called Hazelnut grumpy old man because he was trying his best to ignore PB. Almost a year later and they actually have snuggled together 3 times in the past 2 weeks!
 
So pleased it is going well, they look great together x) Thanks for all those fantastic pigtures.

Taken 2 days ago: they really are becoming the best of friends! There is some chattering and a bit of rumbling but they're doing great!
