Just a quickie....about colds ?

I've got a stinky cold and I think it's going on my chest as it's all rattly.....should I keep away from the pigs, or is it just close contact/cuddles I should avoid for a while?

iv read lots of different opinions of humans passing on colds. I had a stinking cold not long ago so i stayed away from my guinea pigs for three days but luckily my oh is an angel and saw to my piggies for me. It was tourture not being able to see them and i missed them soo much and worried my oh was doing things the way i would do them but i dint want to risk giving them my cold. I even slept on the sofa because at the time we had two piggies we were keeping an eye on in our bedroom. maybe I'm just 98)
 
I think I'll prob keep contact to a minimum for now then...thanks for your reply jom xx
 
better to be safe than sorry, especially with the way your snotting and sneezing at the mo, i hope you have doesed yourself up young lady

Hope you feel better soon Sammy, I had a chest infection after Christmas and kept my distance as well. Peter saw to the pigs but didn't clean them out I felt awful on them but I really couldn't do it I felt so bad.

I have just had a bad cold and didnt handle my piggies too much just in case and I washed my hands before dealing with their food. I dont know if they can catch colds from us but I didnt want to risk it. Get well soon sammy O0
 
Aww thanks everyone....I'm fine,saying that I DO think it is man flu as I don't normally moan and this time I'm having a right old whinge about it ;D ;D
I'll keep contact down to a min....tbh as long as they are fed and clean I doubt they will miss me ::)
 
When I have a cold I try to keep contact to a minimum, but I can't keep away from my piggies because they're in my room and my computer is less than 2m away from them etc so yeah ;D I tend to just get them out once a day quickly to check them over and then try to stay away as much as possible.
