Can Kaolin, Imodium etc be given to guinea pigs?
If so, which product is best and what would be the dose for an adult boar, 5 years old?

Have a look on Peter Gurneys pages...I know immodium can be given but what is the problem and why do you think he needs it? My point is, there may be an underlying cause assuming it is diahorrea?

Hi, yes it is diahorrea. Wilbur is an elderly boar and he's had loose stools since this morning. He's fine in himself, drinking plenty and eating hay. He still wants his veg but I've held off on this for a while.

Have you checked for impaction? Yes I would lay off the veg for a couple of days and see how he goes :)

Might be worth trying Fibreplex, which you can get from some vets and more cheaply, online, if you haven't already.

Imodium Instant Melts, one melt should be enough to halt the diarrhea, but obviously remember to make sure Wilbur gets LOTS of fluids.

Kaolin can be given but I've no experience of it.
