I bought Kaytees Quick and instant spray shampoo and was wondering if it was ok to use. I thought it would be a better alternative to washing my guinea pig since hes older and baths are very stressful but then I read that its not so safe. What are peoples thoughts on it?

Does your piggy actually need bathing - is he not able to keep himself clean now?

I don’t know anything about this product, but I don’t think a leave on shampoo spray would be something I’d ever use. Surely it is going to leave chemicals on his body - something he may lick off and ingest?

I don't know this product, but I wouldn't use anything on my piggies except plain water, and only then if they really needed it. I've only ever had to resort to a bit of water bath when Pedro peed on the counter so his feet got wet and I needed to rinse him off in the sink. Other than that I've used coconut oil to rub in and loosen up matted hair around the grease gland. Coconut oil is a natural non toxic thing to use which wouldn't harm your piggies skin, nor if they did ingest it while grooming themselves. So I would steer clear of Kaytee myself.

Try bum baths with plain baby warm water to clean the mucky areas and use coconut oil for the grease gland.
