Barry lives alone and has done since he fell out with Roy last year. I hate him living alone, so I've moved his hutch opposite Edie and Marmalade's hutch so he can talk to them, but he does sit around a lot and seems lonely/bored. I spend as much time with him as possible but as I go to school I can't really spend loads of time with him, and he's quite scared of humans, I don't know why, but when I got him in 2009 he was an adult so perhaps when he was younger he had a bad experience around humans or something, I don't know, it's taken 2 years to get him to eat food from my hand, and he runs away really quickly to hide if anyone goes near him. I was thinking of bringing him into my room (heating turned off) and just having him near me, so not holding him but sit next to him or something, so he still has a bit of company but isn't being held.
I was going to make him some beds and toys to keep him occupied, can anyone recommend anything to keep him busy? I was thinking something like those hay balls, and kitchen roll tubes stuffed with hay. I was also going to ask Dad if he could make a shelf for his hutch that he can get to by a ramp so its a bit more interesting for him.

that is the ORANGEST pig I've ever seen!

I have a lone piggy - although he seems quite content on his own, and spends a lot of time with human company because he loves people.

When I'm not able to have him as a free range pig, I use various different toys as stimulation, and use them on a rotation so that he doesn't get bored with the same things... he loves things to hide in, and things to sit on, and things stuffed with hay/veg etc.

I'm the same.
I have a lone piggy and I hate the fact that he is alone.
I'm planning on having him neutured and hopefully getting him a lady or 2.
I need the money first though :(

He is such an amazing colour! Haha he's adorable.
My guinea pig was alone for while, but then we adopted another one. Although they're in different cages they still talk to each other and seem quite content.

Sometimes they're happier on their own, but it just depends on their personalities I guess. You could always try gradually introducing him to another guinea pig and then they'll accept each other and hopefully live in the same cage quite happily x
