Yesterday I went out to feed my piggies in the morning and noticed on my female pig (Luna) has a very large lump under her vagina. The lump is bald with a what I would say is few hairs growing through that are hard. The hairs are also a noticeably different colour to her fur. she is black with ginger running through her fur, she is also around 5 years old but not exactly sure as she is a rescue. To start off with I thought she was possibly pregnant but she has already had a litter with peanut (my male piggie) about 3 years ago. and they have lived in the same cage their whole time with me. also I have noticed she been bleeding a lot from the vagina when she wees. any possible idea of what it could be would be greatly appreciated as I cannot find anything similar on google and don't have the money to take her to the vet if its just her menstruating or nothing to worry about. if it is something to worry about i will try and get her in the vets as soon as I can during this trying time.

This is not normal and she needs to see a vet, any bleeding or lumps such as this require a vet check
Guinea pigs don’t menstruate.

Hi and welcome!

Please see a vet as soon as possible! Any bleeding and serious swelling counts as a serious emergency and requires a hands-on examination to diagnose the nature of the lump and then how to best address it.

If your girl is suddenly looking very off or going off her food/losing weight suddenly, then please use the UK out of hours services anf step in with syringe feeding support.
