I’ve never really noticed before but I’ve noticed that Ellen’s nipples are much larger than Edwards. Can a sow generally have larger nipples than a males or should I be worried?

I wrote a thread the other week about Ellen mounting Edward and ovarian cysts was mentioned but that seems to have subsided now.

Both piggies are due at the vets in a few weeks for nail trims and check up so I will ask my vet to take a look at her then.

Ellen is showing no other signs of ovarian cysts so I’m just wondering if her nipples could be normal and if I’m worrying about nothing? They just seems much bigger than Edwards

The size of nipples varies enormously on an individual basis. Sow nipples are generally a bit larger, but not enough to be used for sexing. Crusty nipples are usually a sign of a hormone imbalance. Both gender can get mammary tumours, so any lump under a nipple should be brought to a vet's attention.

Thank you. Her nipples aren’t crusty and there’s no lumps :) Her nipples are just larger and longer than Edwards
