Hi again, I'm picking grass from my 'lawn' daily for the Hobbits and they love it, and when we can get a run sorted and some warmer weather the hope is for them to get out for short periods of time. The problem is our 'lawn' is as much weed as grass, and I hadn't realised how bad it was until I started picking grass for them. I know moss is bad for them, and the worst part for moss isn't suitable for a run anyway, it's too steep. But the flatter area close to the house isn't great either. There's lot of dandelions which I know are ok, but there's also daisies and buttercups so I'm really concerned about putting them out. Will they graze and instinctively pick and choose the good stuff and avoid the bad, or is not worth the risk?
Thanks
Lainey

The chances of them avoiding the bad stuff is low, it’s simply not worth the risk.
Thank you, I'd never really bothered with our lawn much before now, I concentrate on the flower beds and if I had the choice I'd get rid all together, but that was before we got guinea pigs. In fact I used to really like the fact that it was full of daisies and buttercups 'a lawn without daisies is like a heart without love' - unless you're a guinea pig! I doubt it I'll have to mow it this year, cos I'm out daily picking a bowlful, and I've even harvested some grass from mum's garden along the road. I do her garden so I know that nothings been sprayed on it.
