Hi everyone,
This is a long shot and it probably doesn’t exist but is there such a thing as a non-drip water bottle...?

We recently re-homed two boys who came with a Ferplast cage and water bottle, but it drips so much I am changing bedding twice a day as the cage gets soaked. They are now in a c&c cage.

What do people find works best for them and does a non-leak water bottle exist?

Thank you! 😊

Hi!

Non-drip bottles are still the holy grail for piggy owners. It has not yet been found. I would recommend to try a different variety and use a drip dish.

If you want to know more about bottles and the various pros and cons of different makes, this guide here may be helpful: All About Drinking And Bottles

Thank you I thought this maybe the case! Thought I’d ask though on the off chance such a thing existed!

I use the classic water bottles (and have done for many years) and I’ve never had one that leaks
Me too, we have classic water bottles and the only one that ever leaked was the one Theo deliberately vandalised during a heatwave to make a shower for his hot little black ears! Other than that I've had the same ones for about 18 months no problems :)

I use the glass ones from pets at home, some have leaked, but I thinks it's just crust that makes the bearings not seat properly, i always have two on the cage. They have lasted for years

We've recently had a problem with the Classic bottles leaking when my OH was looking after the piggies for me. They were fine when I was home and filling them again! I think he was screwing the lids on too tight, it's worth checking this. One of my piggies drinks very fast with his mouth open and dribbles most of the water back down his chin and soaks the fleece. I was changing bottles thinking they were leaking for sometime before the penny dropped that I was only having a problem in one cage.

I had a Classic (till I dropped it) and can vouch for them. Also prefer glass over plastic for a few reasons but I've found that the spout part is usually better quality if the whole thing is more expensive. Plastic ones I give a little squirt after filling to try and create a vacuum.

Mine are positioned over a bit of newspaper as I also had a sloppy drinker and it stopped everything else getting wet from the creeping puddle. Never thought of a drip-dish... that's bloomin' genius!

I use the Ferplast Sippy Water Bottle - it's never leaked for me and is definitely the best bottle I've ever used! It is plastic, but good quality in my opinion. They're about £8 online!

Classic bottles are my go to. I really loved John Hopewells guinea pig ones for piggies who chew the spouts for fun but he stopped making them. I've got 2 left which I cherish.

I have used the classic bottles and find that they drip so i put a little dish underneath them. I now have the Ferplast sippy bottles in two of my cages, they really don't drip. However, one of my piggies refuses to use them so we stick to the classic bottles for them.
