Hi everyone,
I have two guinea pigs at home, but this post is about the guinea pigs we have at work (I work in a nursery).
The guineas are kept in a hutch and recently the water bottle has started leaking... so we bought another one.... and that one leaked... so we bought another one... and that one is leaking. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on here? I've tried attaching the water bottle in different ways. I've moved straw away from it in case that was setting it off. I just don't understand. Every morning when I come in the cage is soaking - but the guinea pigs aren't so I don't think they are playing with it.
Help anybody? It's driving me mad.grrrr

You need to fill the bottle right to the brim and wiggle as many air bubbles out as possible in order to create a vacuum which prevents the bottle from leaking badly.

Is it a glass bottle? Mine leaked (even when full) until I realised that you have to really do them up tight, & that works for me :)

Tis not a glass bottle.
I thought I had tried filling it all the way to the top - but perhaps not - i'll try that tomorrow. It's just so weird :{

When you put the bottle on the cage, put it on diagonally - that should stop the drips.

we have bought a glass water bottle with a little floaty duck inside i think this is brilliant ! i bought it because our piggies were drinking there plastic bottle dry far too quickly, the little plastic ducky will prevent the water from freezing in the cold and it holds more water then the little plastic one :) its only the first day and i already love it :)

also bought the hutch snuggle and those furry beds to keep them warm, and i also love this too :) you know those tunnel ones where there fluffy one side and cottony on the other then to furthey insulate the hutch i have a space blanket to wrap round to the hutch, to further insulate when its starts to get frosty !
