I'm growing plants in the back garden because I want to extract the CBD to know what the fuzz is all about. The plants I have are in their vegetative state and I was wondering if my piggies can eat the leaves. The leaves are filled with lots of fibre and have a lot of nutritious value. I've searched everywhere online for a decent answer but every single one of them were speculations/ experience-based answers/ vague answers and also pretty conflicting. I've read some people giving it to their piggies claiming it's just like a normal leaf and nothing happened, then again the leaves are toxic to dogs. There's a bit of THCA in the leaves but it needs to be heated to about 105°C to be turned into THC (the compound that makes you high) which is highly unlikely to happen in Belgian weather... I'm not a neuroscientist but Guinea pigs have an endocannabinoid system which still would be able to process the THCA (which is not psychoactive). I've read that THCA in itself won't cause harm to guinea pigs and you'd need a lot of it to make the pig ill, my plants are also really low in THC because my intention is not to get high from the since I'm not a smoker. so the THCA won't hurt them but then again it also doesn't mean they can't get bloated/ sick from certain things in the leaves. My piggies are using a hemp bedding and sometimes eat from it and although it's not completely the same as a sativa plant, it should be more or less the same. Now, don't worry I'm not giving them a single leaf until I've seen conclusive information about it and I'm very cautious about what I give. The reason I'd like to give it to the piggies is because I need to prune my plants anyways, some leaves occasionally fall of as well and there is a lot of nutritious value in it that would be really healthy for them. If anyone has any information on this topic let me know
thanks!
